  1. I am a budding Napa Valley Winemaker and Enophile. I have been in the wine business in some capacity for 12 years. Many in wine labels and hospitality (fine wine service) and this last year I find myself unemployed. I have been fully invested in getting my Enology Winemaking degree this spring and also Twittering and blogging about Wines I try at various tastings, i.e. Wines of The World Class and with other fellow wine associates in the Napa and Sonoma Valley. I have been blogging for around a year, but only seriously in the last 3 months. Thea has been encouraging me to attend, the blogger conference, but alas the funds are not there for me to do so. I believe I have the knowledge and tech no how to really be a great wine blogger.
Hope you will consider my application. My only real needs are registration fees.
    thanks so much.

  5. Hello,

Couldn’t find an email address for applying for the wine blogger scholarship so thought I’d put my application in here.

My name is Liz Lewis and I am a blogger/freelance writer who is slowly putting together a website/blog called The Green Wine Guide focusing on everything about eco-friendly sustainable wines and wineries. It’s still in the early stages but aim to develop it with maps, e-guides, interviews, and products for those interested in the environment, wine, and travel.

I’m traveling over from New Zealand for the wine bloggers conference as a way of connecting with other wine writers/bloggers and to discover many of the great California wineries that are sustainable.

Would love to be considered for the scholarship and get a little bit of assistance with accommodation costs while at the conference if possible.

    Thanks ,

    Liz Lewis

    • Hi Liz,

unfortunately, the Scholarship Applications closed on June 1st. My apologies, but we may be able to assist you with a lower cost room for the Fri/Sat of the conference. We have a scholarship recipient that currently does not have a roommate. The reduced rate would be $ 109.89 For the two nights.

Let me know if that is of interest, and I can see what I can work.

      thanks

      thea

  6. After spending over 20 years in technology, I am taking an involumtary sabatical. With more time than usual on my hands I have begun to drink more wine and then …I started talking about the wines and then… Liza and Xandria convinced me to blog about the wines. I am enjoying my adventures and I am thrilled to share my love of the vine. WBC would be at the top of my list of events to attend this summer, if I was now doing a paid gig. A scholarship for registration only would be much appreciated.
